«What is the truth? What do I see now, or what will I see three weeks later? Which one is real?»

Every woman has these thoughts every month. So let’s finally talk about the subject we were taught to be quiet about. Oratorio for choir, heroine, and male voice in the tradition of Greek tragedy, discourse on the connection of women with nature, society, men, and the cosmic circle.

A young woman confronts her biology, abusive partner, and patriarchal society. She realizes the endless complexity of her nature and the tragedy of a discriminatory world. Yet, she does it through self-compassion and empathy towards everything surrounding her.

Principles
Structural and scenic traditions of Ancient Greek tragedy.
Chorus and three main actors.
Modern and traditional folk musical instruments.
Mix of speech, songs and hymns.
Russian avant-garde inspired stage design.

The play is a reflection on female physiology and psychology. It raises the problem of sex discrimination and violence. It is meant to bring awareness to the complexity of the subject. It serves as a platform for dissolving stereotypes and fighting a long-time stigma.
