Irina Lavrinenko

Director & President of Fool House

Irina has been totally obsessed with costume history since she was a kid. Throughout a comprehensive  program at Moscow State University of Culture  and Arts she immersed herself in the examination of folk, military, urban, religious, and theatrical costumes.

Subsequently, her passion for the stage blossomed, leading her to delve further into theatrical exploration. Here, she began experimenting with the creation of stage costumes utilizing unconventional materials. She’s all about mixing her scholarly expertise with some serious creativity, making sure every costume she makes up is a perfect blend of history and style.

We had a lot to offer: many different unexpected materials for costume construction, five plus twenty-five bags of ready-made costume elements, vintage clothing, modern clothing, accessories, and headwear — there was plenty to choose from. All materials were purple!
