The most important things to us … people, dogs, trees, … being ready to talk with each other and to be understood
Why is «The Dogs» so essential to us?
Because it was the only live performance in Portland during the quarantine and self-isolation period.
Yes, we are brave. This performance was our first tryout of the site-specific theater project for actors and the Russian-speaking audience. During the stage reading, we communicated with the spectators, who were also the participants. The spectators came to the theater after a long break and experienced interaction that was impossible in everyday life.
Ten spectators, five actors, and the surrounding world is already a Theater. No need to invent anything; just enter the forest without fear, and wander around the dog playground. A similar experience would not have been possible in another space.
A play about love – what could be more interesting? Love that is familiar and, at the same time, so different. Dogs and squirrels, trees, and planes in the sky were also the participants.
